Places to visit

Here are a few of our favourites......

Activities

Walking

We are ideally placed as a base  for a walking holiday  and whether your aim is to bag as many Munros as possible or to take things a little easier we are sure you will find something to suit.  There are coastal walks, woodland trails and some serious long distance walks as well as over 19 Munro's and the largest wilderness area in Northern Europe in Glen Affric National Nature Reserve.

Golfing

The golfer will be spoilt for choice with over 25 courses within a radius of 50 miles. Just a few miles down the road is the delightful 9 hole course at Aigas and To challenge the more experienced golfer the Championship Courses at Nairn and Royal Dornoch are hard to beat.

Horse-riding

The Highland Riding Centre at Borlum Farm is approximately 15 miles away and the centre is also home to Riding for the Disabled. Set amid stunning scenery there is a range of horse riding opportunities available.

Fishing

The area is renowned for fine salmon and trout fishing. We are close to the River Beauly and Glens Affric, Cannich, Strathfarrar and Strath Glass.

Wildlife

The area is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts.  In Glen Affric National Nature Reserve see deer, red, roe and sika, badgers, and pine martens and off the A831 between Drumnadroichit and Cannich is the Corrimony RSPB Reserve. The surrounding area is home to beavers, otters, osprey  and red kites and the impressive herd of   reindeer in the Cairngorm National Park.
